नई दिल्ली, 7 जुलाई — अयोध्या राम मंदिर में दान चोरी के आरोपों के बीच श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट के कोषाध्यक्ष स्वामी गोविन्ददेव गिरी ने अपनी जवाबदेही सीमित करने की कोशिश की है। उन्होंने कहा कि वे केवल उस धन के लिए जिम्मेदार हैं जो औपचारिक रूप से ट्रस्ट के खातों में पहुँचा।

“जो धन खातों तक नहीं पहुँचा, उसकी जिम्मेदारी अन्य लोगों की है,” गिरी ने टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया से कहा। उन्होंने बताया कि वे पुणे स्थित चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट्स की टीम के माध्यम से वित्तीय निगरानी करते हैं। “चूँकि मैं यहाँ नहीं रहता, मेरे चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट्स हर महीने पाँच दिन अयोध्या आते हैं, सभी खातों की जाँच करते हैं और मुझे रिपोर्ट देते हैं। हम प्रतिनिधि व्यवस्था के जरिए काम करते हैं,” उन्होंने कहा।

यह बयान उस समय आया जब ट्रस्ट ने घोषणा की कि उसने महामंत्री चंपत राय और ट्रस्टी अनिल मिश्रा के इस्तीफे स्वीकार कर लिए हैं। दोनों ने 27 जून को पद छोड़ा था, जब उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस ने चोरी के मामले में आठ लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया।

गिरी ने स्वीकार किया कि चोरी हुई है, लेकिन कहा कि ट्रस्टियों ने संस्था से विश्वासघात नहीं किया। “यह विश्वासघात इसलिए हुआ क्योंकि चंपत राय, जिन्हें हम अत्यंत सम्मानित मानते हैं, ने गलत लोगों पर भरोसा किया। उन्होंने वर्षों तक ऐसे लोगों को अपने पास रखा और उन्होंने ट्रस्ट को धोखा दिया,” गिरी ने कहा।

उन्होंने उन आरोपों को भी खारिज किया कि मंदिर की बहुमूल्य भेंट गायब हो गई हैं। गिरी ने बताया कि ट्रस्ट ने मीडिया के सामने वे पाँच वस्तुएँ प्रदर्शित कीं जिन पर सार्वजनिक चर्चा हो रही थी। “हमने 2,800 दान की गई वस्तुओं का रजिस्टर मीडिया के सामने रखा। सभी वस्तुएँ उपलब्ध हैं और अधिकृत लोग उन्हें देख सकते हैं,” उन्होंने कहा।Swami Govindadev Giri, SITInvestigation, AyodhyaControversy,

विशेष जांच दल (SIT) ने अपनी पड़ताल का दायरा बढ़ाते हुए ट्रस्ट द्वारा पिछले दो वर्षों में किए गए ₹124 करोड़ से अधिक खर्च की जाँच शुरू की है। इसमें 22 जनवरी 2024 की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा समारोह, 2025 का महाकुंभ आयोजन और नवंबर 2025 का ध्वजारोहण कार्यक्रम शामिल हैं। इनमें सबसे बड़ा खर्च ₹113 करोड़ का था, जो प्राण प्रतिष्ठा समारोह पर हुआ था। इस आयोजन में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, कई मंत्री, राजनेता, बॉलीवुड अभिनेता, कारोबारी और सोशल मीडिया हस्तियाँ शामिल हुई थीं।

SIT ट्रस्ट के वित्तीय अभिलेखों की जाँच कर रही है, जिसमें ऑडिट रिपोर्ट, भुगतान वाउचर, बिल और खर्च का विवरण शामिल है, ताकि यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि धन का उपयोग निर्धारित प्रक्रियाओं के अनुसार हुआ या नहीं।

गिरी के बयान और SIT की विस्तृत जाँच से राम मंदिर की वित्तीय पारदर्शिता पर विवाद और गहरा गया है। इस महीने के अंत में आने वाली अंतिम SIT रिपोर्ट यह तय करेगी कि जवाबदेही किस पर तय होती है और देश के सबसे चर्चित धार्मिक संस्थान का भविष्य किस दिशा में जाता है।

Ram Temple Theft: Treasurer Says Funds Outside Accounts Were ‘Others’ Responsibility’

New Delhi, July 6 — Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust treasurer Swami Govindadev Giri on Monday sought to distance himself from allegations of donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, saying he was accountable only for money that formally entered the Trust’s accounts.

“What did not reach the accounts was the responsibility of other people,” Giri told The Times of India. He explained that he monitored finances through a team of chartered accountants based in Pune. “Since I do not stay here, my chartered accountants visit Ayodhya for five days every month, examine all the accounts and report back to me. We work through delegation,” he said.

The comments came a day after the Trust confirmed that it had accepted the resignations of general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. Both had stepped down on June 27, after Uttar Pradesh police arrested eight people in connection with the case.

Giri acknowledged that theft had taken place but insisted the trustees themselves had not betrayed the institution. “This betrayal happened because Champat Rai, whom we consider highly respected, trusted the wrong people. He kept such people close to him for many years, and they betrayed the Trust,” he said.

He rejected claims that valuable offerings had gone missing, saying the Trust had displayed before the media five items that had become the subject of public speculation. “We placed the register of 2,800 donated items before the media. All the articles are available, and authorised people may inspect them,” he added.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has expanded its probe to examine more than ₹124 crore spent by the Trust on major events, including the January 22, 2024 consecration ceremony, the Maha Kumbh 2025 arrangements, and the November 2025 flag‑hoisting event. The consecration ceremony alone cost ₹113 crore and was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ministers, politicians, Bollywood actors, business leaders and social media influencers.

The SIT is auditing financial records from the past two years, including audit reports, vouchers, bills and expenditure statements, to verify whether funds were used in line with prescribed procedures.

With the treasurer’s remarks and the probe widening, the controversy over the Ram Temple’s finances continues to deepen. The final SIT report, expected later this month, will be crucial in determining accountability in one of India’s most high‑profile religious institutions.
