नई दिल्ली: राजस्व खुफिया निदेशालय (DRI) ने नशीली दवाओं के नेटवर्क और संगठित तस्करी सिंडिकेट के खिलाफ एक बड़ा देशव्यापी अभियान चलाया है। डीआरआई ने गुजरात के सूरत में 2 किलोग्राम कोकीन जब्त करने के साथ-साथ मुंबई हवाई अड्डे से संचालित होने वाले एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्वर्ण तस्करी सिंडिकेट का भंडाफोड़ किया है। इन अलग-अलग कार्रवाइयों में कुल मिलाकर 37 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।
1. सूरत में कोकीन की खेप बरामद: 'नशा मुक्त भारत' अभियान के तहत बड़ी सफलता
26 जून को 'अंतरराष्ट्रीय नशीली दवा दुरुपयोग और अवैध तस्करी विरोधी दिवस' के अवसर पर डीआरआई ने सूरत में एक सफल ऑपरेशन को अंजाम देते हुए 2 किलोग्राम कोकीन की खेप जब्त की। इस मामले में एनडीपीएस (NDPS) अधिनियम, 1985 के प्रावधानों के तहत एक आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।
यह कार्रवाई डीआरआई द्वारा मादक पदार्थों के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे निरंतर अभियान का हिस्सा है। पिछले एक महीने (मई 2026) से अब तक की गई कार्रवाई का विवरण इस प्रकार है:
देशव्यापी बरामदगी: मुंबई, दिल्ली, जयपुर, पटना, कोचीन और अहमदाबाद के हवाई अड्डों, रेलवे स्टेशनों, कूरियर टर्मिनलों और राजमार्गों पर सिलसिलेवार कार्रवाई करते हुए कुल 26 किलोग्राम कोकीन जब्त की गई है।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय सिंडिकेट का पर्दाफाश: इन ऑपरेशन्स के दौरान कुल 22 संदिग्धों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है, जिनमें 14 विदेशी नागरिक शामिल हैं।
तस्करी के नए तरीके (Modus Operandi): जांच में सामने आया कि तस्कर ड्रग्स छिपाने के लिए कैप्सूल निगलने (बॉडी कंसीलमेंट), कपड़ों में ड्रग्स को सोखने, घरेलू व खाद्य पदार्थों में छिपाने और बैग के गुप्त हिस्सों का इस्तेमाल कर रहे थे।

2. मुंबई और बेंगलुरु में स्वर्ण तस्करी सिंडिकेट ध्वस्त; ₹23 करोड़ का सोना-चांदी जब्त
डीआरआई ने एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण खुफिया ऑपरेशन में मुंबई हवाई अड्डे से जुड़े एक अत्यधिक परिष्कृत (sophisticated) स्वर्ण तस्करी सिंडिकेट को पूरी तरह नियंत्रण में ले लिया है। इस दौरान मुंबई में एक अवैध स्वर्ण गलाने वाले कारखाने (Melting Facility) का भी भंडाफोड़ किया गया।
मुंबई ऑपरेशन्स: डीआरआई ने मौके से 6 किलोग्राम विदेशी मूल का सोना जब्त किया। इस मामले में हवाई अड्डे के कर्मचारी, उसके हैंडलर, तीन बिचौलियों और कारखाने के ऑपरेटरों सहित पूरी आपूर्ति श्रृंखला (supply chain) से जुड़े 9 व्यक्तियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।
बेंगलुरु में कार्रवाई: बेंगलुरु हवाई अड्डे पर एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय यात्री से कपड़ों की परतों में छिपाकर लाया गया 1.8 किलोग्राम सोना (पेस्ट के रूप में) बरामद किया गया। आरोपी के आवास की तलाशी लेने पर अतिरिक्त 1.5 किलोग्राम सोने के आभूषण, 45 किलोग्राम चांदी और भारी मात्रा में विदेशी व भारतीय मुद्रा जब्त की गई।
अन्य क्षेत्रीय बरामदगी: इसी सप्ताह हैदराबाद, राजकोट, कालीकट, विशाखापत्तनम, गुवाहाटी और पेट्रापोल (भूमि सीमा शुल्क स्टेशन) में की गई कार्रवाइयों में 6 किलोग्राम अतिरिक्त सोना जब्त किया गया और 5 लोगों को हिरासत में लिया गया।
कुल वित्तीय प्रभाव: स्वर्ण तस्करी के खिलाफ इन संयुक्त अभियानों में कुल 15 किलोग्राम सोना और 45 किलोग्राम चांदी बरामद की गई है, जिसका अनुमानित बाजार मूल्य लगभग 23 करोड़ रुपये है। इस सिंडिकेट से जुड़े कुल 15 आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has launched a massive nationwide operation against drug networks and organized smuggling syndicates. In separate actions, the DRI seized 2 kg of cocaine in Surat, Gujarat, and busted an international gold smuggling syndicate operating from Mumbai airport. A total of 37 individuals have been arrested across these operations.
1. Seizure of Cocaine Consignment in Surat: Major Success Under 'Nasha Mukt Bharat' Campaign
On June 26, marking the 'International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking', the DRI executed a successful operation in Surat, seizing a consignment of 2 kg of cocaine. One accused has been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
This action is part of DRI's ongoing relentless campaign against narcotics. The details of the actions taken over the past month (May 2026) till date are as follows:
Nationwide Seizures: A total of 26 kg of cocaine has been seized in a series of operations across airports, railway stations, courier terminals, and highways in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, Cochin, and Ahmedabad.
International Syndicate Exposed: A total of 22 suspects have been arrested during these operations, including 14 foreign nationals.
New Modus Operandi: The investigation revealed that smugglers were using methods such as swallowing drug capsules (body concealment), soaking drugs into clothes, hiding them in household and food items, and using secret compartments in bags.
2. Gold Smuggling Syndicate Busted in Mumbai and Bengaluru; Gold and Silver Worth ₹23 Crore Seized
In another major intelligence-led operation, the DRI completely neutralized a highly sophisticated gold smuggling syndicate linked to the Mumbai airport. During this, an illegal gold melting facility in Mumbai was also busted.
Mumbai Operations: The DRI seized 6 kg of foreign-origin gold from the spot. Nine individuals involved in the entire supply chain—including an airport employee, his handler, three middlemen, and the operators of the melting facility—have been arrested.
Action in Bengaluru: At the Bengaluru airport, 1.8 kg of gold (in paste form) hidden within the layers of clothing was recovered from an international passenger. A subsequent search at the accused's residence led to the seizure of an additional 1.5 kg of gold jewellery, 45 kg of silver, and a large amount of foreign and Indian currency.
Other Regional Seizures: In actions conducted this week in Hyderabad, Rajkot, Calicut, Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, and Petrapole (Land Customs Station), an additional 6 kg of gold was seized, and 5 individuals were detained.
Total Financial Impact: In these joint operations against gold smuggling, a total of 15 kg of gold and 45 kg of silver have been recovered, with an estimated market value of approximately ₹23 crore. A total of 15 accused associated with this syndicate have been arrested.

According to the DRI, these operations demonstrate that smuggling syndicates are now utilizing insider access at airports and multi-layered distribution networks. The DRI is further sharpening its intelligence and operational capabilities to strengthen the country's economic security and prevent organized crime.
